With the World getting darker and darker by the minute, the temptation to sin has never been so high like the generation we are living in.
The more the freedom, the greater the temptation to sin. Society is now trying to give freedom to everyone to do anything they want including gambling, prostitution, abortion, and same sex marriage. Obedience is no longer considered as a good virtue. Pride and self fulfillment, without regard for the wellbeing of your neighbors is considered right and normal. Repentance is no longer taught in the churches, humility is regarded as weakness. Love is interpreted as sexual pleasure, and happiness is defined by momentary pleasure.
What the psalmist said in Psalms 14 is exactly what we are seeing now days
” The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the Lord.
5 There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.
6 Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the Lord is his refuge.
7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.”
Like the psalmist, we pray that the savior and our Lord Jesus Christ will come soon and get us out of this dark world.
Like Lot in Sodom and Gomorrah, we are resting daily with the principalities and powers controlling this sinful world. But we have the LORD Jesus on our side.
As the days become darker and darker it signifies that the night is far spent and that the dawn is about to shine. Jesus is about to come and take his bride. Soon and very soon we are going to see the King!
