God Judges the Intent of Our Hearts (Part 1)

On our last blog we saw that God judges everyone according to our deeds. If you did not get a chance to read it, click on this link https://spiritualgrowthforall.com/2019/01/12/does-god-judge-christians/. On this blog we look at God’s judgement of evil desires in our hearts. Before we begin to talk about it, there may be some who may say why is it necessary to write about God’s judgement? And my answer to that is so that we can gain a heart of wisdom, a heart that truly fears the Lord, and depart from evil. To know God is to know His love, mercy, kindness, faithfulness, greatness, and the most forgotten attribute of God, His judgement. A heart that knows God is a heart full of wisdom. And the Bible sternly warns us to be wise in these evil days. Being a believer is not enough, we must be actively seeking out God’s will so that we may not be deceived by the devil to receive God’s judgement.

The writer of proverbs says it this way,

1 My children, listen when your father corrects you. Pay attention and learn good judgment, 2 for I am giving you good guidance. Don’t turn away from my instructions. 3 For I, too, was once my father’s son, tenderly loved as my mother’s only child. 4 My father taught me, “Take my words to heart. Follow my commands, and you will live. 5 Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them. 6 Don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her, and she will guard you. 7 Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do!And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. 8 If you prize wisdom, she will make you great. Embrace her, and she will honor you. 9 She will place a lovely wreath on your head; she will present you with a beautiful crown. 10 My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life. 11 I will teach you wisdom’s ways and lead you in straight paths. 12 When you walk, you won’t be held back; when you run, you won’t stumble. 13 Take hold of my instructions; don’t let them go. Guard them, for they are the key to life.

Proverbs 4:1-13

To know God is to be wise. Learning the way of God is the key to life! I believe that God placed us on this earth so that we can find out what God’s will is and live by it. That’s it! We live on earth for God’s glory and our joy, peace, freedom, rest, and life comes from knowing and doing God’s will. Some people, thinking that God has robbed them of their freedom, try to live outside of God’s will and they end up in disaster because they don’t understand that it’s only the Maker who knows what’s good for them.

“There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death” Proverbs 14:12

Man can not live without God because he is an imperfect being who will always end up destroying himself, if he is not governed by God. God does not rule over us by force, He is our Lord because He wants us to get life –He knows that we can’t make it without Him. From the time of Adams fall until the time of Christ, when God the Son came to earth to bring us back to the original purpose of God, whereby we become His children and He our God and Lord, man had the power to govern himself and live whatever his heart desired, but we see that the outcome was nothing but death! The more man chose his own way, the more the evil that was done. And when God saw that man was in helpless state, He was kind enough to send us His Only Son to die on the cross for our sins, so that we may not suffer and die.

“But I came by and saw you there, helplessly kicking about in your own blood. As you lay there, I said, ‘Live!’ Ezekiel 16:6

I will not want to make this blog longer that this, so I will summarize what I’ve been saying here, and on my next blog I will continue part two. Unless we learn to fear the Lord, which is basically to learn about God’s judgement, we will not have the capacity to restrain ourselves from evil. Man needs God to live and God have us His Son so that we can know Him and receive His Spirit to lead us into all truth, by knowing Him and giving the honor that’s due to His name.
